External Sales Representative

Business Development & Sales Executive – Steel Products (South Africa & Sub-Saharan Africa)
Role Purpose
To drive business growth, expand market presence, and strengthen customer relationships for steel products across South Africa and the broader Sub-Saharan Africa region.
Key Responsibilities
Market Development & Sales
- Conduct market research to identify new selling opportunities and assess customer needs within the steel industry.
- Develop, establish, and maintain strong relationships with existing clients while actively sourcing new customers across the region.
- Conduct client visits and business trips to enhance customer engagement and identify new business opportunities.
- Lead price negotiations and discussion of relevant sales conditions.
- Optimize import and export operations to support efficient sales activities.
Commercial & Credit Management
- Monitor and manage customer credit limits, ensuring timely collections and minimal financial risk.
- Prepare, review, and process sales-related documentation, including invoices, packing lists, sales confirmations, purchase orders, and other required documents.
Internal Collaboration
- Work closely with regional and global teams, including colleagues in Nairobi, Düsseldorf, and Tokyo Headquarters, to align strategies and achieve shared business objectives.
- Coordinate with group companies and internal departments to support end-to-end sales processes.

Professional Requirements
- Multiple years of sales experience in the steel industry beneficial.
- Proven ability in business development, negotiation, and customer relationship management.
- Business-fluent level of English (spoken and written).
- Valid driver's license.
