About the Role:

As a Finance Intern, you'll gain valuable, hands-on experience in a professional healthcare environment. You'll support our Finance Department in key functions such as reconciliations, reporting, intercompany transactions, and audit preparation — while receiving guidance and mentorship from an experienced Finance Manager.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Completed BCom in Accounting or equivalent qualification
  • Proficiency in MS Word and Excel (essential)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accountability
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with intercompany transactions: Prepare and post journal entries and reconciliations between entities.
  • Maintain the Fixed Asset Register: Update and track company assets; record acquisitions, disposals, and assist with depreciation.
  • General Ledger Support: Post daily transactions (including cashbook) and ensure accuracy of ledger accounts.
  • Perform account reconciliations: Reconcile bank statements, supplier accounts, and internal balances.
  • Financial Reporting: Support month-end reporting, prepare summaries for management, and analyse variances.
  • Accounts Payable: Assist with invoice processing, vendor payments, and expense tracking.
  • Administrative Support: Handle document management, filing, and general finance admin.
  • SARS E-Filing: Assist with VAT and EMP submissions.
  • Audit Preparation: Help compile the year-end audit file and supporting documents.
