Job Description

A well-known Skills Development Provider is seeking a highly competent and qualified Financial Controller to join its dynamic and fast-paced work environment. The ideal candidate will take ownership of the finance function, provide strategic insight, and ensure sound financial expertise across the organization.

Job Specification Criteria:

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (Postgraduate qualification advantageous)
  • Minimum 5 years relevant work experience.
  • Strong financial reporting and compliance knowledge
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience on Sage One preferred
  • Valid driver's license and own vehicle essential
  • Confident leader with excellent communication skills
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities
  • Experience in managing project-based finances will be advantageous

Job Requirements:

  • Oversee the full finance function, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and reconciliations
  • Lead the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports for the executive team and Board
  • Develop, monitor, and report on budgets and forecasts
  • Manage cash flow planning and ensure availability of funds as required
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax requirements, and audit standards
  • Oversee and review annual financial statements, trial balances, and audits
  • Implement and maintain internal financial controls and policies
  • Manage and mentor the finance team, ensuring skills development and effective performance
  • Oversee asset register management, depreciation, and company consumables
  • Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic decisions
