Inventory Manager

Job Function
Custodian of Inventory and continuous improvement procedures within the business. This is to be achieved by managing and controlling the inventory within operations and overseeing to the management and development of the staff within Inventory.
Key Performance Areas:
Stock Accuracy:
- Perform cycle counts as per business requirements to ensure what we are documented on the system accurately reflects what is on the floor.
- Perform full stock counts as per SLA agreement between business and client.
- Variance investigations and Stock losses.
- Pick face bin accuracy.
- Analyse stock allocations to ensure that the right stock is supplied at the right time.
Reporting:
- Oversee to the daily block stock and cycle counts and ensure that reports are compiled and submitted within 15 days to clients and Executive for sign off.
Inventory Management:
- Assigning storage and pick locations as per operational and client's requirements.
- Consolidation of inventory to ensure optimal location utilization and control.
- Monitor the S-Block list and report on them monthly.
SAP Updates & Transactions:
- Updating location master data to ensure accuracy and optimization.
- Managing and processing of adjustments & transfers to maintain inventory accuracy, throughput and availability.
- Manage and develop SAP to meet the company's operational requirements.
Client Retention & Customer Service:
- Maintain relationships between Clients, Customers and the Distribution Centre at the highest level through effective communication and the prompt response, follow-up and resolution of all queries.
Staff Management:
- Manage timekeeping of staff effectively.
- Handle all staff disciplinary matters for your department in consultation with the Human Resources department.
- Appointments of new staff.
Standard Operating Procedures:
- Facilitate Self-inspections to ensure compliance to Pharmaceutical, ISO and Client requirements.
- Monitor deviations ensuring all documentation and trending are in place and facilitate identification and correction of deviations.
- Facilitate and assist in SOP maintenance (reviews, updates and changes) and training to ensure SOP's reflect current business practices and staff.
Handling of Documentation:
- Ensure that all documents are neatly filed and easily retrievable.
CRM Management:
- Responses and resolutions of CRM's
Audits:
- Monitor and maintain compliance to regulatory and quality requirements.
- Engage with the QA department on implementing mock recalls and ensure that turnaround for this activity is 24 hours.
- Support the Finance department in the ISAE annual audit by supplying them with all required and supporting documentation.
Projects:
- Prepare, plan, lead and drive on-boarding and exiting customer/client initiatives.
- Engage with the Key Account Managers to be aware of client/customer needs and products as part of on-boarding process.
- Under-go the 34-point system when undertaking a new client.
- Conduct a needs analysis for on-coming clients to understand what storing specifications are required for their stock.
- Restructure the warehouse where appropriate to cater for client/customer stock.
- Engage with the DIT team to identify and implement any relevant technical and software changes to cater for new client/customer.
- Manage the exiting of a client/customer by identifying what stock we currently have in our premises against what is documented on the system.
Qualifications Required:
- Grade 12.
- Diploma in Warehousing / Materials Management is preferred.
Experience and Skills Required:
- At least 5 years warehouse management, of which a minimum of 2 years should have been spent in a senior management position.
- MS Office skills.
- Working knowledge of the labour and related acts and disciplinary procedure is required.
- Ability to effectively identify process measurements, to gather and analyse data, and to identify trends.
