Day in the Life

Embarking on a career as a Commercial Underwriter means embracing a role centered on precision and thoughtful risk assessment. You will perform day-to-day underwriting activities, ensuring for the effective evaluation of risk and maintaining excellent client service by adhering to standard operating procedures. Beyond the day-to-day, you are growing your knowledge, keeping up with industry best practices and actively managing your own development through regular reviews and Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

Requirements:

  • 5 + years' experience in a commercial underwriter role
  • Experience in working with various insurers
  • Experience within a short-term insurance brokerage is preferred
  • Experience across general commercial policies such as SME, Property, Multimark Policies and Group Schemes.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well in a team and independently

Qualifications:

  • Meets all Fit & Proper requirements as per the FSCA (i.e. no longer under supervision)
  • RE5, Class of Business, Insurance related qualification
