Sidekwest is a technology company based in Cape Town, working with clients across a variety of industries.

Our projects range from a few weeks to several months and vary in scope, which is why we're looking for a versatile problem solver - someone with experience in Shopify and across other eCommerce platforms, a willingness to learn, and a proactive, can-do attitude.

While we continue to build full-stack web applications, a portion of our client base operate in the eCommerce space. We help clients launch, optimize, scale and maintain online stores. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working across the stack and creating impactful digital commerce experiences.

Tasks
  • Build, customize, and maintain Shopify (or other eCommerce platform) stores, including themes, templates, and custom features.
  • Integrate third-party apps, payment gateways, shipping solutions, and other eCommerce tools.
  • Identify and fix bugs or performance issues in the store.
  • Provide ongoing support for live stores, troubleshooting issues as they arise.
  • Collaborate with designers, marketers, and product teams to implement new features.
  • Stay up-to-date with eCommerce trends, tools, and best practices.
Requirements
  • Experience with Shopify APIs, app integrations, and theme customization.
  • Strong front-end development skills: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Liquid templating.
  • 2–3 years of experience in eCommerce development, preferably with Shopify.
  • Familiarity with version control (Git) and deployment workflows.
