Role Description

We're seeking a proficient React Front-End Developer to join our team in building a customised eCommerce platform powered by
commercetools
and
Strapi
CMS. This role involves developing dynamic, responsive user interfaces and integrating with backend services through GraphQL and Restful APIs. Your expertise will contribute to delivering seamless shopping experiences and efficient content management solutions.

This is a full-time hybrid role based in Cape Town (ideally) or Johannesburg.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain user-facing features using
    React
    and
    TypeScript
    .
  • Integrate front-end components with backend services via
    GraphQL
    and
    REST APIs
    .
  • Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs and optimise applications for maximum speed and scalability.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and propose improvements to enhance user experience and development processes.
  • Ensuring high performance, responsiveness, and scalability of applications across different devices and browsers.
  • Code Quality: Writing clean, maintainable, and well-documented code, adhering to best practices and coding standards.

Core Skills & Experience

  • Strong, proven proficiency in

    , including Hooks and State management.
  • Proven experience with
    TypeScript
    and modern JavaScript (ES6+).
  • Proven experience
    with

    for backend integration tasks.
  • Solid understanding of
    GraphQL
    and
    RESTful API
    design and consumption.
  • Knowledge of eCommerce platforms, preferential if you have
    commercetools
    experience. Preference given to candidates any prior eCommerce Platform experience.
  • Proficiency in
    HTML5, CSS, and Flex
    responsive design principles.
  • Experience with version control systems, specifically Git.
