Role Description

The Software Engineer is a full-time hybrid role based in Cape Town, with work-from-home options. The responsibilities include designing, developing, and maintaining software applications and systems. The role requires active participation in the entire software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis and coding to debugging and testing. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, researching new technologies, and optimizing existing solutions for scalability and performance are also key aspects of the position.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, C++, or similar languages
  • Experience with software design, system architecture, and development practices
  • Hands-on knowledge of databases, both relational and NoSQL
  • Understanding of version control systems and CI/CD pipelines
  • Ability to engage in debugging and resolving software issues efficiently
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication capabilities
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
  • Knowledge or experience in technology solutions for financial services or telecommunications will be an advantage
