Operations/Warehouse Manager

Location: Cape Town

Salary Type: Annual Currency: Rand (R)

Job Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily operations of the warehouse, ensuring efficiency and compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Manage inventory levels, conducting regular stock checks and reconciliation to maintain accurate records.
  • Implement effective warehouse layout and logistics strategies to optimize space utilization and workflow.
  • Supervise and train warehouse staff, promoting a safe and productive work environment.
  • Develop and monitor performance metrics to evaluate staff efficiency, warehouse operations, and overall productivity.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and logistics providers to facilitate timely deliveries and maintain supply chain integrity.
  • Prepare regular reports on warehouse performance, inventory status, and other key operational metrics for senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, as well as environmental standards related to warehouse operations.
  • Manage budgets, control costs, and identify opportunities for operational cost savings.
Essential Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in warehouse management or a similar operational role.
  • Strong understanding of inventory management software and warehouse management systems (WMS).
  • Excellent logistical and organizational skills.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate team members.
  • Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Desired Experience:
  • At least 5 years of experience in a warehouse operations or management role.
  • Experience within the leather or fashion industry is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience in process improvement and project management.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems and logistics/supply chain best practices.
