Learning Systems Administrator

To manage, maintain, and optimise the organisation's Learning Management System (LMS), ensuring a smooth, effective digital learning experience across all business units. The Learning Systems Administrator will support training delivery, learner engagement, compliance reporting, and training data analytics-enabling informed decision-making within the Learning & Development (L&D) function.
This role is a key enabler in developing organisational capability, improving time to competence, supporting digital learning transformation, and strengthening how we measure learning impact.
Responsibilities
1. LMS Management & Administration
- Administer user accounts, permissions, and system roles
- Upload, organise, and maintain all course and programme content
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and liaise with external LMS providers when required
- Ensure system hygiene and enforce digital security protocols
- Provide user support and resolve LMS-related queries
- Generate dashboards and reports on course completions, learner engagement, skills uptake, learner trends, performance and gaps
- Prepare data for skills and compliance reporting
- Support ROI tracking and performance analysis across training initiatives
- Implement new LMS features, plug-ins, and upgrades
- Complete testing and reports for all systems enhancements and changes
- Collaborate with IT, HR and training teams to streamline system integrations
- Maintain documentation and SOPs for all system integrations
- Provide technical guidance and training to LMS users, including trainers and managers
- Assist trainers in creating digital learning paths and virtual programmes
- Design and maintain user guides, FAQs, and resources to enhance platform adoption and utilisation Resolve system-related queries and escalate complex issues
- Maintain up-to-date, accurate training records in line with audit requirements
- Support internal and external audit processes for training and development
- Validate that all content and reporting aligns with regulatory and quality assurance standards
Certificate or Diploma in Information Systems, Educational Technology, HR Development, or a related field (minimum NQF Level 6)
Additional certification in LMS platforms (Moodle, Oracle, Cornerstone, etc.) advantageous
Required Experience
- 3-5 years' experience in LMS administration or systems support within an L&D or HR environment
- Demonstrable experience in managing and optimising learning systems
- Background in compiling and reporting on training data analytics
- Solid understanding of LMS platforms and SCORM-compliant e-learning content
- Working knowledge of South African Skills Development legislation and SETA processes
- Competent in Excel (intermediate to advanced), and Power BI (advantageous)
- Familiarity with the digital learner journey and adult learning principles
- LMS administration and user support
- Data reporting and visualisation (Excel, Power BI)
- Content uploading, course configuration, and system troubleshooting
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and effective communication

Data Insightfulness: Interprets training metrics and drive actionable insights
