About Client

Our client, a leading organisation within the services sector, is seeking an experienced Fleet Manager to oversee and support all fleet-related operations. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly organised professional with strong logistics and operational management experience to join a dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure departmental compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Oversee fleet compliance: drivers must complete daily Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIR) and maintain logs for audits and inspections.
  • Develop and monitor fleet management KPIs using fleet management systems.
  • Ensure compliance with government transport industry regulations.
  • Implement preventative health and safety measures to minimise injuries on duty.
  • Utilise fleet management software to analyse data, reduce operational costs, and improve efficiency.
  • Monitor fuel purchases and usage through fuel card systems.
  • Ensure adequate staffing levels and submit departmental timesheets for payroll processing.
  • Select, equip, and maintain vehicles to meet operational needs at minimal cost.
  • Schedule vehicle servicing and maintenance to extend fleet lifespan.
  • Monitor driver behaviour using tracking devices (e.g., over-speeding, harsh braking).
  • Utilise GPS tracking to prevent theft, manage delivery delays, and track performance.
  • Oversee vehicle registration and regular inspections.
  • Manage acquisition of new vehicles and specifications.
  • Supervise the disposal of used vehicles through sales or auctions to recover costs.
  • Coordinate in-house or outsourced vehicle servicing within required timeframes.
  • Implement and enforce transport schedules, accident reporting, and vehicle assignment policies.

Qualifications
:

  • Education: Degree in Logistics, Operations, Business Management, or a related field. Advanced driving qualifications will be an advantage.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a logistics management role, plus 3 years of corporate/business driving experience or 5 years in a supervisory/managerial role.
  • Technical Skills: Working knowledge of fleet management systems and computer applications.
  • Licences: Valid driver's licence.
