**Position: Fleet Controller**

**Position Overview**:

**Qualifications, Skill, Experience & Competencies**:

- Previous experience as a Fleet controller/ warehouse manager.
- Overseeing the day-to-day activities within ones allocated fleet, in respect of:

- Ensuring that all required equipment is in order.
- Report any defects to Workshop manager.
- Vehicle maintenance.
- Vehicles are parked and secured in allocated parking bays.
- Ensure vehicles are correctly loaded in terms of both the customer’s requirements as well as Company policy and procedures, and the prevailing Road Traffic Legislation.
- Ensuring management and customers, are notified of, and recording any delays with dispatch or arrival of stock.
- Ensure each vehicle has a fleet file, and file is managed and updated accordingly.
- Ensure that vehicle loads are captured daily on the internal software, (loads, kms, volumes, tolls, vehicles etc).
- Ensure vehicles are used in accordance with established rules and regulations and that vehicle usage data is correctly recorded.
- Maintain daily duty rosters/WhatsApp group dispatch vehicles daily.
- Arrange for re-training and re-certification and registration and recertifications of vehicles.
- All administration with respective to the vehicles:

- All documentation relating to the customer’s requirements must be managed and documented.
- Must be up to date on all aspects of the laws and regulations governing the fleet transportation industry.
- Ensure toll reconciliations are done on a weekly basis.
- Monitor toll costs and present data on a weekly and monthly basis to Management.
- Maintenance of employee particulars such as, licence validation, personal details, completed training, etc.
- Communicate effectively with clients and respond to their requirements.
- In conjunction with your supervisors, book sub-contractors and ensure they deliver within agreed terms.
- Perform all general administrative duties associated with your responsibilities.

**REQUIRED**:

- Plan and co-ordinate vehicle loads/routes with approval from the Operations Manager
- Check load is correct according to invoice.
- Ensure PODs are received.
- Responsible for arranging road diesel orders.
- Reconciling all slips
- Liaise with customers and provide them with regular updates.
- Co-ordinate and co-operate with the fleet tracker to ensure that vehicles are tracked and monitored for compliance in terms of the following:
Ø Route deviations

Ø Adherence to speed limits

Ø Unauthorised stops

**Experience**:

- Fleet Controller: 3 years (required)
