Head of Communications and Fundraising

Qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor's degree in communication and/or marketing is essential
- Experience with event management, electronic and social media is essential
- Proven track record of successful marketing and publicity strategies as well as sourcing funding and sponsorships essential
- Experience in planning, budgeting, coordinating and hosting of large events essential
- Production of school magazines or similar print projects highly recommended
- Minimum 5 years' experience in Communication and Fundraising at managerial level highly recommended
- Fundraising experience highly recommended
- Crisis management capabilities.
Skills and abilities:
- Ability to plan, implement and monitor strategies
- Excellent written communication skills with an ability to write clearly, concisely, accurately and persuasively
- Experience and excellent ability in proofreading
- Demonstrable track record of having excellent organisational skills to manage competing priorities, deadlines and own workload
- Innovative, creative and a self-starter
- Excellent interpersonal skills – ability to meet and talk face-to-face with a range of diverse people – business people, donors, parents and staff - with ease and confidence
- Ability to identify publicity opportunities
- Ability to understand and manage a diverse environment
- Be informed about current events as they impact and play out in the school environment e.g. BLM, GBV

- Willingness to work variable hours, including evenings and weekends as needed
- Flexibility as required
