About Harambee

Harambee is a Youth Employment Accelerator, dedicated to solving one of South Africa's most pressing social challenges—youth unemployment. We do this through innovation, data, and purpose-driven technology, partnering with key stakeholders such as The Presidency of South Africa, Business Unity South Africa, and the Youth Employment Service (YES).

What You'll Do

  • Develop and implement employee engagement strategies aligned with Harambee's vision, values, and goals.
  • Champion Harambee's culture, inclusion, and diversity through high-impact engagement initiatives and change management interventions.
  • Design and deliver workshops, interventions, and campaigns that promote the Harambee way of working.
  • Lead the administration and analysis of employee engagement surveys, using data to drive continuous improvement.
  • Partner with leaders, change champions, and cross-functional teams to enhance employee experience and culture.
  • Oversee engagement resources and systems, including HRIS/Learning Management Systems.
  • Lead, coach, and develop trainers/facilitators, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performance.
  • Collaborate with the strategic communications team to deliver impactful employee communications and engagement campaigns.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and Harambee policies.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in HR, with at least 3 years focusing on employee engagement and facilitation.
  • Proven experience in leading engagement initiatives and managing teams.
  • Strong knowledge of HRIS or employee engagement platforms.
  • Competencies in situational awareness, organisational and influential leadership, effective communication, accountability, and partnership building.
