About Us

We produce a business‑focused video podcast and content that spotlights the stories, insights, and lessons of entrepreneurs and innovators in South Africa. Our mission is to deliver high‑quality, engaging content that amplifies South Africa's startup community and the people on the ground, helping elevate South Africa's tech innovation. We're now looking for a young, creative editor to help us shape these conversations into polished episodes and social content to drive viewership and build our audience.

Role Overview

As a Video & Podcast Editor, you'll transform raw conversations into compelling audio‑visual experiences. You'll be responsible for cleaning and enhancing audio, editing and assembling video footage, adding music, graphics and transitions, and repurposing content for social media. Because our show is centred on entrepreneurship and business, we need someone who enjoys business topics and can recognise and highlight the most valuable insights for founders and investors.

Key Responsibilities

• Polish and balance recorded audio, removing 'noise' and unwanted pauses.
• Edit video footage in line with our brand, adding lower thirds, graphics and smooth transitions.
• Work with the host/producer to shape a clear narrative and keep episodes concise and engaging.
• Add visuals, music, and sound effects to enhance audio‑visual quality.
• Repurpose episodes into short clips, teasers and show notes for social media and blog posts.
• Manage media assets, project files and release schedules, ensuring deadlines are met.
• Bring awareness of Cape Town's startup ecosystem to suggest relevant guests, themes and questions.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Proficiency with audio and video editing software (Descript, Adobe Audition/ProTools for audio; Premiere Pro/Final Cut Pro/DaVinci Resolve for video).
• A strong portfolio or internship experience showcasing editing work; a degree in film, media, communications or a related field is advantageous.
• Knowledge of audio formats, codecs, compression, and video resolutions.
• Attention to detail, storytelling instinct and creativity.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Genuine interest in startups and entrepreneurship with the curiosity to understand basic business metrics and industry trends.
• Must be based in Cape Town and available for in‑person recording sessions and regular office days for collaboration.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with financial terminology and the ability to translate complex business insights into accessible stories.
• Understanding of SEO and digital marketing for optimising titles, descriptions and tags.
• Participation in local startup events, accelerators or entrepreneurial communities.
