JOB PURPOSE

Commercial Manager is responsible for driving business growth, managing client relationships, and

overseeing financial performance to maximize profitability. They will further oversee the entire

tendering process, ensuring successful bid submissions and compliance with client requirements

while managing cross-functional teams.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE


• Matric (Grade 12)


• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration/Electrical Engineering, or a related field, such

as Quantity Surveying or Construction Management. is typically required.


• Diploma in Supply Chain Management will be an added advantage


• Understanding of EBM SGT and Lesedi Reticulation Products and production process will

be an added advantage


• Be able to produce reports and keep records


• Ability to manage staff and monitor performance


• Candidate should ideally have background in transmission and distribution line hardware

with a minimum of two years of relevant experience in related industries/fields, such as

railway, mining, manufacturing, asset integrity management, mechanical engineering, or

industrial services.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Key outputs will include:

Supervision & Coordination


•Provide guidance and leadership to the EBM SGT/Lesedi junior estimators, ensuring consistency in cost estimation across both companies.


•Set performance targets and monitor workload distribution between subordinates.


•Oversee all tenders and ensure accounting and compliance is correct.


•Prepare and maintain project/tender costing sheets throughout the execution of projects.


•Cost planning and management until award of the tender.


•Review cost estimates prepared by his/her subordinates to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements.


•Validate calculations, material take-offs, and pricing structures before submission to customers.

Standardization & Process Improvement


•Develop standardized estimation processes across both companies to improve efficiency and reduce discrepancies.


•Assist with drawing up of all supporting documents that need to be submitted with tenders.


•Having knowledge of FIDIC, NEC 3, GCC and related Contracts


•Act as the central point of communication between both companies regarding estimation and costing matters.


•Ensure seamless cost integration between the sister companies for joint projects.


•Generate comparative reports on estimation trends, cost deviations, and key financial insights.


•Ensure that subordinates adhere to financial, legal, and contractual compliance standards


•Identify cost risks in project estimations and recommend mitigation strategies.
