They have built a cloud-native platform from the ground up and are now seeking a top-tier security professional to help protect their critical digital assets.

In an environment where security is paramount, your mission is to evolve the security operations from a reactive to a proactive, intelligence-driven function. You will be at the heart of the cyber defense team, responsible for protecting customer data and the integrity of the banking platform. This is not a role for maintaining the status quo; it is a unique opportunity to build, automate, and implement next-generation security solutions using AI and cloud-native tools, making a tangible impact on the safety and success of a market-leading innovator.

Performance Objectives for Year One:

  • Automate Threat Detection: Within the first 6 months, develop and implement at least three new automated security detection playbooks for the AWS and Azure environments, measurably reducing the mean time to detect (MTTD) for common threat vectors.
  • Enhance Incident Response Protocol: By the end of year one, lead the refinement of the incident response process, creating a streamlined framework that demonstrably reduces response and resolution times for critical security incidents.
  • Establish Proactive Threat Hunting: Within the first 9 months, build and operationalize a proactive threat hunting program, conducting at least two successful, intelligence-led hunting exercises that identify and mitigate previously unknown vulnerabilities.
  • Improve Cloud Security Posture: Within 12 months, drive the remediation of the top identified security misconfigurations within the primary cloud platform (AWS/Azure), resulting in a hardened and more resilient infrastructure.
  • Champion AI in Security Operations: By the end of year one, research, pilot, and present a compelling business case for leveraging a new AI-driven security tool or technique to enhance the organization's predictive threat intelligence capabilities.

Profile for Success:

  • You have a demonstrated track record of building and tuning security detection rules and playbooks in a cloud-first (AWS/Azure) environment.
  • You bring proven experience managing the full incident response lifecycle, from initial triage and investigation through to forensics and remediation.
  • You have previously established or significantly contributed to proactive threat hunting initiatives that have uncovered hidden risks.
  • You possess strong, hands-on proficiency with cloud security services (e.g., AWS GuardDuty, Azure Sentinel) and Endpoint Detection & Response (EDR) solutions.
  • You are skilled in using scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, or Bash) to automate manual security tasks.
  • You have 3-6 years of experience in a cybersecurity operations, SOC, or incident response role.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience is required.
