Role Overview

The Financial Controller will manage and oversee all financial operations, controls and reporting for the company. This includes ensuring accurate and timely financial statements, budgeting & forecasting, financial compliance (including healthcare-specific regulations), revenue recognition, and improving financial processes to support rapid growth. The role is strategic but also hands-on, working closely with leadership to provide insights for decision making, cost control, and ensuring scalability.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Financial Reporting & Accounting

  2. Oversee preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS/GAAP / local accounting standards.

  3. Maintain integrity of general ledger; ensure all entries are accurate, complete, and properly documented.

  4. Manage consolidation (if multiple entities), intercompany transactions, and accounting of digital subscriptions or service contracts.

  5. Revenue Recognition / Billing

  6. Ensure correct and compliant recognition of revenue from virtual consultations, subscription plans, digital services.

  7. Review contracts and agreements with providers / payors to ensure proper accounting treatment (e.g., long-term contracts, milestone billing).

  8. Oversee billing, invoicing, accounts receivable, reconciliation of patient/provider/partner payments.

  9. Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Planning

  10. Lead annual budgeting and periodic forecasting cycles.

  11. Monitor variance analysis; identify trends, cost overruns, opportunities for cost control.

  12. Develop financial models to support new product launches, partnerships, scaling, market expansion.

  13. Cash Flow & Working Capital Management

  14. Manage cash flow forecasts; ensure sufficient liquidity for operations.

  15. Oversee payables, receivables, and other assets/liabilities.

  16. Internal Controls, Compliance & Audits

  17. Implement and maintain strong internal controls aligned with healthcare regulation (privacy, patient data, etc.), financial controls, and risk management.

  18. Coordinate external audits and work with auditors.

  19. Ensure compliance with regulatory, tax, licensing, and governance requirements.

  20. Process Improvement & Systems Oversight

  21. Evaluate and improve financial processes (closing cycles, billing, data capture, reporting).

  22. Oversee finance systems / ERP systems (e.g. NetSuite, QuickBooks, Oracle, SAP) ensuring they support scalability.

  23. Develop dashboards / KPIs.

  24. Team Leadership

  25. Manage a finance team (e.g., accountants, reconciliations, AR/AP).

  26. Mentor, coach, develop capabilities and ensure high performance.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; professional qualification (CA, CPA, ACCA or local equivalent) highly preferred.
  • 5–8+ years of progressive finance experience; minimum of 2–3 years in a management / controller role.
  • Skilled in financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting.
  • Excellent ERP / accounting system experience; comfortable working with data analytics tools.
