3. Role Summary

The Team Supervisor is responsible for the overall
leadership, coordination, and execution
of solar PV installation and maintenance projects. This role ensures all projects are completed safely, efficiently, on time, within budget, and to the high technical and quality standards expected by Allsolar Boland. The Supervisor serves as the vital link between field operations and management.

4. Key Responsibilities and Duties4.1. Team Leadership & Management

• Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of solar installers, technicians, and assistants.
• Schedule and allocate tasks to team members based on project requirements and individual skill sets.
• Maintain discipline, professionalism, and high morale within the team.

4.2. Operational & Project Oversight

• Ensure all solar PV installations adhere to technical specifications, local regulations, and Allsolar's quality protocols.
• Manage the project lifecycle, from site inspection and preparation through to commissioning and handover.
• Monitor project progress, identify potential delays or issues, and implement proactive, effective solutions.
• Oversee the loading, offloading, and secure storage of tools, equipment, and materials.

4.3. Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE)

• Enforce strict adherence to all company and legislative health and safety regulations (OHS Act).
• Conduct regular site safety inspections and risk assessments.
• Ensure all team members utilise correct Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Maintain a high standard of workmanship and installation quality.

4.4. Administration & Communication

• Complete and submit accurate daily progress reports, timesheets, and site documentation.
• Communicate effectively with the Operations Manager regarding project status, challenges, and resource needs.
• Serve as the primary on-site contact for clients, addressing technical concerns professionally and promptly.
• Manage and track the inventory of tools and materials used on-site.

5. Essential Skills and ExperienceA. Qualifications & Technical Expertise

• Mandatory:
  Must be a
  Registered Electrician
  (e.g., Wireman's Licence or relevant designation).
• Minimum:
  A relevant NQF Level 4/5 qualification (e.g., Trade Certificate or Technical Diploma).
• Proven experience (minimum 3 years)
  in Solar PV installation and maintenance (rooftop, ground-mount, residential, commercial).
• Strong technical knowledge of solar PV system components (panels, inverters, mounting structures, batteries, etc.) and best-practice installation methods.
• Valid driver's license (Code B, Code EB or C1).
• Advantageous:
  Solar PV GreenCard accreditation or AREP.

B. Leadership & Experience

• Proven experience (minimum 2 years) managing, supervising, or leading technical teams in a construction or electrical environment.
• Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team effectively.
• Strong problem-solving ability and capacity to make quick, informed decisions under pressure.

C. Other Requirements

• Willingness and ability to permanently relocate to Worcester, Western Cape
  ,
  to be based at the Allsolar Boland office and service area.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) in English and Afrikaans (due to the regional context).
• Demonstrated commitment to safety and quality.
