Job Purpose

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Teaching Experience Administrator to join our School of Education team on a part-time basis. This role combines critical administrative duties with the coordination of student teaching placements, serving as a vital link between our institution, partner schools, and student teachers.

Duties and responsibilities:

Establish and maintain comprehensive databases for;

  • Partner schools
  • Teaching Experience supervisors
  • Student placements and tracking
  • Track student eligibility and maintain placement records across program years

  • Process and manage documentation for:

    • Police Clearance certificates
  • SACE registration
  • Placement forms
  • Mentor Teacher Information Packs
  • Implement systematic filing and document management processes
  • Maintain accurate digital and physical records

Program Support

  • Support the organization and execution of workshops
  • Ensure student readiness for Teaching Experience practical
  • Monitor and manage query resolution
  • Report to the Teaching Experience Coordinator

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum: Grade 12 Matric Certificate NQF Level 4
  • Advantageous: Office Administration Qualification
  • Minimum 1-year administrative experience
  • Experience in education sector preferred

Key Competencies:

  • Knowledge and understanding of the South African higher education systems and regulatory framework.

  • Knowledge and understanding of the Teaching and Learning theory and interventions.

  • The ability to provide student support services.
  • The ability to work with and learn more about digitalized academic platforms.
  • The ability to cope with a frequently changing environment and to adapt to evolving situations.
  • Ability to adhere to rules and strictly follow work regulations.
  • Deadline orientated and can work well under pressure.
  • Ability to manage time effectively.

Working Hours:

Classes are scheduled from 08h00am until 17h00pm, Monday to Friday. Your working hours will depend on the modules allocated to you.
