Position Overview

The Principal drives student achievement and leads a team of dedicated staff to ensure excellence across teaching, learning, school operations, and community engagement. This role requires a leader who can set a rigorous academic vision, uphold strong school culture, support professional development, and ensure full readiness for NSC and Umalusi requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Student Achievement & Academic Excellence

• Set clear, ambitious academic goals aimed at a 100% NSC pass rate.

• Support matric learners with strong data-driven interventions and academic plans.

Instructional & Data-Driven Leadership

• Use real-time data to guide personalised learning.

• Implement advanced blended-learning and tech-enhanced instructional strategies.

School Culture & Learner Engagement

• Build a culture of high achievement, emotional resilience, and leadership.

• Drive mentorship, learner engagement programmes, and responsibilities.

Staff Development & Professional Growth

• Lead coaching, termly evaluations, and continuous professional development.

• Equip teachers to integrate blended learning and innovative teaching practices.

Behaviour Management & Support Systems

• Oversee behaviour support plans rooted in restorative justice.

• Strengthen mental health, counselling, and socio-emotional support systems.

Stakeholder & Community Collaboration

• Build productive partnerships with parents, families, and the community.

• Maintain compliance with the Department of Basic Education.

NSC & Umalusi Accreditation

• Lead all NSC exam preparations and accreditation processes.

• Drive high matric success through structured academic support programmes.

Operations & Financial Management

• Oversee operational efficiency, budgeting, and resource allocation.

Innovation in Education

• Promote project-based learning, technology integration, and global competencies.

• Integrate Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into learning programmes.

Accountability & Continuous Improvement

• Implement strong monitoring and evaluation systems.

• Maintain high performance standards for staff and learners.

Minimum Requirements

• 3+ years high school teaching experience

• 2+ years school leadership experience

• Experience with labour laws

• Experience with NSC exam administration and accreditation

Preferred Qualifications

• Grade 12 Certificate

• B.Ed or PGCE (Senior Phase & FET)

• SACE registration

• English fluency

• Clear criminal record
