Site Merchandiser

The Site Merchandiser ensures that merchandising content supplied by merchants, suppliers, master data and marketing is fit for purpose and is published on time and to drive incremental customer engagement and sales.
Liaise with the Merchandising team to drive sales through 1P, 2P and 3P digital channels and platforms, by ensuring the correct quality and quantity of product content is made available and used online.
Will also work collaboratively across with the broader Commercial teams to maximize conversion opportunities, support promotional and merchandising efforts.
Commercial Content Operations
- Maintain a day-to-day relationship between content suppliers, merchandising, marketing, master data and content team members – executing efficient processes for the onboarding and publishing of Product content and ad hoc queries
- Execute website product content and promotions in line with marketing calendar and initiatives
- Enforce product content style guides; create and collate product content including imagery, descriptions, supplier generated content, hierarchy, mapping, categorization, exclusions, navigation, reference products, website search
- Liaise with Master Data and Merchandising teams to maintain an accurate product content database, ensuring data integrity throughout the entire SKU
Process
- Contribute to, and have a thorough knowledge of, the banner's category content style guides and suggest process improvements / provide support to the wider business in achieving consistency on the website
- Work with technical teams, merchandising, master data and content suppliers to facilitate effective content induction processes to ensure content is market leading, right first time and meet banner content standards
- Ensure all content is produced, published and retired in a timely, accurate and consistent manner
Reporting
- Contribute to the maintenance of reports on active lines and content against those lines
- Communicate to stakeholders to make sure content is supplied, reviewed, and refreshed in a timely manner
Customer Service
- Contribute to efficient and effective internal and external customer service in relation to the 1P, 2P and 3P digital content
Projects
- Participate where appropriate in new digital innovations and initiatives to drive profitability and customer engagement
- Research opportunities and propose new innovations aligned to the business
Stakeholder Relationships
- Ensure sound relationships with all key stakeholders and manage expectations and communications effectively
- Foster a trust relationship with internal and external stakeholders and through a team culture of accountability
Requirements:
Qualifications:
- Commercial degree (or equivalent) in Marketing, Internet Marketing or Information Systems and Management
Experience:
- 2+ years of Ecommerce and digital content management systems experience
- 2+ years' experience in (visual) merchandising and/or building content for a B2B and B2C Ecommerce business
- Working knowledge of modern Ecommerce platforms and content management systems (preferably in SAP Commerce/Hybris)
- Understanding of a product's key selling points (both written and visual), that are aligned to brand, relevance, and tailored to site visitors
- Experience managing large amounts of detailed product data, content, pricing, image assets, etc.
- Experience with web analytics a plus (e.g. Google Analytics)
- Ability to understand basic code (HTML, CSS) a bonus
- Ability to understand and apply basic SEO principles
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and Google Docs (Sheets, Slides, etc.)
- Category management experience is a plus
- Working knowledge of onsite search is a plus
