Purpose of Senior IT Specialist

The Senior IT Specialist is responsible for managing and improving the company's IT systems, with a strong focus on ERP platforms, system integrations, project delivery, and technical support. This role ensures that business operations run efficiently through effective system management, problem-solving, and continuous improvement of technology processes.

Job Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent.
  • 5+ years proven experience in IT, with at least 3 years working with ERP systems.
  • Strong project management experience (formal PMP/Prince2 certification is an advantage).
  • Solid understanding of databases, SQL, system configurations, and integrations.
  • Experience in business process analysis.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Valid driver's licence (advantage if travel between branches is required).

Job Specification

ERP Systems Management

  • Oversee and administer the company's ERP system, including configuration, upgrades, and maintenance.
  • Analyse business needs and translate them into system enhancements.
  • Troubleshoot ERP-related issues and ensure minimal downtime.
  • Manage user access, roles, permissions, and security settings.
  • Work closely with Finance, Operations, HR, and other departments to optimise ERP workflows.

IT Project Management

  • Lead and deliver IT projects from start to finish (planning, implementation, testing, training, go-live).
  • Develop project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource requirements.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, service providers, and vendors.
  • Ensure all projects are executed within scope, on time, and according to company standards.

Systems Integration & Automation

  • Identify opportunities to streamline and automate business processes.
  • Implement integrations between ERP and other systems (CRM, Payroll, Fleet, HR software,

  • Work with APIs, data mapping, and workflow tools where required.

IT Support & Infrastructure Oversight

  • Provide advanced technical support for system, network, hardware, and software issues.
  • Support IT policies, backups, cybersecurity measures, and data protection standards.
  • Assist in managing servers, cloud services, networks, and IT assets.

Reporting & Data Analysis

  • Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and data extracts from the ERP system.
  • Provide insights and analytics to support operational and management decisions.
