Snr Accountant

A leading and renowned company based in the V & A Waterfront, is looking for a high performing Snr Accountant to join their vibrant team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 - 5 years' experience within a similar role.

Purpose of this role: Run and maintain the accounting of group companies up to trial balance for reporting to Financial Manager, within set deadlines given.

You will be responsible for:

Run and maintain accounting up to trial balance stage:

Recording of day-to-day financial transactions, including matching of bank transactions and all journal entries

Creation of customer invoicing and credit notes (including EFRIS invoices for Ugandan entities)

Fixed Assets and Intangible Assets register maintenance (additions, disposals, deprecation run, etc.)

Loan schedule maintenance (drawdowns, repayments, interests, etc.)

Monthly reconciliations: banks, suppliers, petty cash and VAT (excluding payroll) Preparation of VAT workings/reports for VAT returns (as well as WHT and Reverse Charge VAT returns where applicable)

Preparation of annual income tax calculations for SA and Mauritian entities

Preparation of tax estimations for provisional tax returns for SA entities (Bi-annually) Assistance on annual financial audits as required

Management and coordination of annual Transfer Pricing study (Uganda)

Assistance with AFS preparation

Assistance on ED audits for EPC entities (providing local content declarations, invoices and proof of payments)

Banking:

Complete physical FOREX payment forms for submission to the bank via email

Loading of supplier payments as well as Ugandan payroll payments on banking system from the payment proposal created on Sage and approved by the Head of Finance

Reporting:

Monthly supporting schedules to the trial balance

Preparation of quarterly management accounts for individual companies

Preparation of quarterly documentation requirements for individual companies

Qualifications:

Matric / Grade 12 Certificate

Bachelor Degree in B. Com / B.Compt / B,Acc (Financial Accounting)

Completed SAICA / SAIPA Articles

Good Accounting knowledge including IFRS, Tax and VAT

Knowledge of relevant IT/Accounting systems

Understanding laws and regulations specific to the industry (renewable energy)

4 - 5 Years accounting experience with forex will be adv.

MS Office (Advanced Excel) & Sage x3
