The successful incumbent will lead the organisation's financial operations, ensuring financial integrity, regulatory compliance, and strategic insight to support sustainable growth and operational efficiency. Provide leadership with accurate financial information, robust controls, and forward-looking analysis to safeguard financial health and enable sound investment decisions across an international footprint.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Strategy & Operations
    • Lead division-wide budget planning aligned to strategic objectives and manage large-scale financial operations and costs.
    • Drive long-term financial strategy, advanced scenario planning, and efficiency initiatives.
  • Financial Control, Governance & Compliance
    • Develop and implement financial control frameworks, policies, and governance standards to safeguard assets.
    • Ensure global compliance with IFRS, GAAP and jurisdictional tax requirements; manage annual audits and external auditor relationships.
  • Planning, Reporting & Insight
    • Lead financial planning, budgeting and forecasting to ensure fiscal discipline.
    • Oversee preparation and analysis of accurate, timely financial reports and translate data into strategic insights for executive leadership.
  • Risk, Liquidity & Stability
    • Manage financial risk through internal controls, credit management and liquidity planning to support business continuity and long-term stability.
  • Systems & Continuous Improvement
    • Drive financial systems improvements and process automation to enhance accuracy, reduce manual work and support scalable operations.
    • Develop and manage departmental budgets to ensure financial feasibility of projects. 
  • Leadership
    • Lead and develop a team of managers and specialists, setting clear direction and expectations, and fostering innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement.

  • Executive Leadership, Business Leaders & Line Managers
  • Group Finance Director
  • Tax Authorities, Auditors, Banking & Financial Institutions, Regulatory Bodies, Investors, Vendors & Suppliers.

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Experience
    • ±10 years progressive experience in a senior financial controller/finance leadership role, including at least 8 years in finance management, financial control or related roles.
    • Demonstrated ability to run extensive, high-impact financial operations with significant budgetary responsibility.
  • Education
    • Relevant professional qualification preferred (e.g. CA(SA), CFA, ACCA, PMP)

    • Financial analysis, planning, budgeting and risk management
