About the Role

We are seeking a hardworking, reliable, and detail-oriented Stock Assistant to join our team. This role is vital to maintaining accurate stock levels across multiple branches and ensuring smooth operations between our stores. The successful candidate will take ownership of stock management processes, assist in audits, and support the team with all stock-related activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular stock counts and ensure accuracy in all stock-related data.
  • Monitor and analyse stock movement to identify discrepancies or trends.
  • Maintain and update stock sheets and reports daily.
  • Compile and manage stock take rosters for all branches.
  • Assist with packing shelves and maintaining warehouse organisation.
  • Support the Stock Manager in preparing monthly and quarterly reports.
  • Drive between branches within Gauteng and occasionally travel to Cape Town for stock control duties.
  • Ensure stock rooms are maintained in a neat, efficient, and well-documented manner.
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure stock accuracy across the system.
  • Participate in and support company stock takes; overtime may be required depending on timelines.

Requirements

  • Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel.
  • Previous experience in stock control or warehouse operations preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel and basic data entry.
  • Fast learner and able to adapt to new systems and processes quickly.
  • Physically fit and able to perform hands-on tasks (lifting, packing, etc.).
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Must be reliable, punctual, and able to meet deadlines.
