Position Title: Mid-Level Interior Designer

Department: Design

Reporting to: CEO

Location: Cape Town, CBD - Onsite permanent position

PURPOSE OF ROLE

To support and contribute to the creative vision and design excellence across all projects, ensuring cohesive, high-quality architectural and interior design outcomes aligned with Curación's brand and strategic objectives.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS


• National Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture, or Interior Design (or equivalent).


• 5+ years of relevant design experience.


• Proficiency in Revit and industry-standard 2D and 3D modelling and rendering software.


• Strong design thinking, spatial planning, problem solving, and project management skills.


• Excellent communication, attention to detail, and the ability to lead teams and projects effectively.


• Strong design sensibility that aligns with the Curación aesthetic.

REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

Hard Skills


• Strong proficiency in 2D and 3D modelling software (e.g. Revit, Sketch Up, CAD) and rendering software (e.g. Lumion, Twinmotion, Enscape).


• Proficiency in Revit is required.


• Proficient in image editing software (e.g. Adobe Photoshop).


• Proficient in productivity suits (e.g. Google Workspace and Microsoft Office).


• Excellent design thinking and spatial planning capabilities.


• Strong project management and organizational skills.


• Skilled in supplier negotiation, sourcing, and procurement logistics

Soft Skills


• Effective verbal and written communication.


• Detail-oriented with a strong eye for aesthetics and functionality.


• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.


• Good time management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Creative Direction


• Define and uphold the studio's design vision, lead concept development, and ensure design quality and innovation across all projects.

Project Oversight


• Manage design projects from concept to completion, overseeing budgets, timelines, and quality. Coordinate with stakeholders, resolve issues, and maintain all project documentation and reports.

Team Engagement


• Foster collaboration and encourage a culture of creativity and continuous learning.

Client Engagement


• Be a representative of the Curación Group in key client meetings, deliver impactful presentations and reports, and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.

Studio Strategy


• Contribute to business goals, studio direction, and strategic initiatives, supporting long-term growth and positioning.

Performance & Growth


• Contribute to knowledge sharing and support the development of performance standards.

OPPORTUNITIES


• Contribute to high-impact projects and shape the creative direction of Curación's design studio.


• Collaborate with clients and senior leadership on strategic initiatives.
