Specialising in premium pet foods and accessories, Absolute Pets is the leading pet retailer in South Africa with over 190 stores across the country.

Our team of experts is looking for a Warehouse Supervisor in the Inbound Department to join the Absolute Pets Cape Town Warehouse.

Responsibilities/ Core Functions:

Inbound Process

  • Manage inbound stock process as per agreed work instructions and SOP's
  • Perform pre verification checks against PO and Invoice to ensure correctness as per SOP
  • Manage checking of stock and ensure stock is received accurately as per SOP
  • Ensure that all inbound stock is processed accurately on the WMS.
  • Ensure timeous resolution of all receiving errors by performing necessary adjustment on the WMS.
  • Ensure that all stock put-away tasks are performed accurately on the WMS.
  • Use the WMS to track and report on performance of all inbound staff.
  • Ensure that delivery containers are offloaded within stipulated timelines to avoid additional charges from shipment agents and transporters.
  • Ensure efficient usage of all material handling equipment , and reporting on maintenance requirements.
  • Ensure that stock checks and audits are done as per requirements
  • Ensure that pallet ids are put on all pallets received into the warehouse with the correct information
  • Ensure GRV packs are submitted within the agreed SLA of 24 hours
  • Facilitate the accurate recording of the receiving register and follow up on overdue deliveries, overdue GRV's and late deliveries
  • Ensure receiving documents (invoice, credit notes) are submitted, filed and files kept in good order
  • Following up on any outstanding documents especially credit notes with Suppliers, Finance and Commercial Departments
  • Check that receipted stock has been captured accurately through post verification checks of the GRV against the invoice
  • Ensure that stock is put away in an efficient and accurate manner
  • Perform daily audits on process adherence and accuracy of stock checking by the receiving team
  • Adhere to the SLA of 24 hours for all stock to be checked and put away with the GRV pack submitted
  • Daily checks on outstanding deliveries. GRV's and credits with communication to the relevant departments and suppliers for escalation
  • Facilitate the preparation of weekly KPI reports and daily handovers to management ensuring that there is detailed feedback on items that require attention as well as outputs and accuracy audits
  • Collaborate with other departments in ensuring efficient usage of space , and proper yard management.
  • Reporting on all damages identified and/or incurred during stock receipt.
  • Work closely with departments to maintain a high level of stock accuracy through proper communication and reporting

Staff Management

  • Manage team of receivers, stock clerks and administrators
  • Drive a culture of accountability and responsibility
  • Work closely with Commercial and Finance departments
  • Contribute to achievement of warehouse KPIs
  • Take the necessary corrective action should there be any deviation from agreed processes, policies or procedures
