Business & Data Analyst (Mid Level)

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Business & Data Analyst to join our team.

Note this
is NOT a data scientist role
. We are looking for a
cross skilled individual
that is able to analyse business and systems requirements and come up with appropriate software and non-software solutions
as well
as build Business Intelligence dashboards to help the organization.

As a
Data Analyst
, you will play a crucial role in supporting data-related activities within our organization. You will collect, analyse, and present data insights that inform decision-making and drive business growth. You will be responsible for building and maintaining BI dashboards for the organization.

As a
Business Analyst
you will elicit business & systems requirements and work with business and software teams to determine the appropriate solutions while assessing the feasibility of the recommended solution from a business perspective /ROI.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Business Requirement Specifications:
  Document business requirements for software development solutions. Ensure all project documentation is prepared and maintained in accordance with company standards and templates.
• Run
  workshops
  with business owners, and clearly note objectives and outcomes.
• Create
  solution design documents.
• Conduct
  User Acceptance Testing
• Data Collection and Cleaning
  : Collect and compile data from various sources, ensuring data accuracy and completeness. Perform data cleaning and transformation as necessary to prepare it for analysis.
• Data Analysis
  : Assist in conducting data analysis using statistical methods, data visualization tools, and data analysis software. Summarize findings in clear and concise reports.
• Data Visualization
  : Create visually appealing and informative charts, graphs, and dashboards to present data insights to stakeholders. Use tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Excel for visualization.
  (Microsoft Power BI will be the preferred option)
• Report Generation
  : Prepare regular and ad-hoc reports to communicate key metrics and findings to the team and management. Ensure reports are accurate and delivered on time.
• Data Quality Assurance/Integrity
  : Help maintain data quality standards by identifying and resolving data discrepancies or inconsistencies. Collaborate with other team members to establish data quality protocols. Conduct thorough data integrity tests to ensure reliable outputs. Troubleshoot system and data-related issues to maintain smooth operations.
• Research and Learning
  : Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in data analysis & business analysis. Continuously expand your knowledge and skills in data analytics techniques and tools.
• Innovation
  : Proactively identify key areas of the business where IT can optimise processes and produce optimal ROI. Develop innovative solutions for operational and strategic changes. Be innovative and produce innovative ideas not only in IT but across the business
• Project manage
  the delivery of solutions from customer engagement to post-implementation support

Qualifications and requirements

• In depth knowledge of BI and Data Warehouse environments and best practices
• Ability to present complex information in an understandable and compelling manner

• SSIS/SSRS advantageous
• Minimum 3 years' work experience as Business & Data Analyst
• Business Analysis certification/diploma
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• Strong analytical skills and a passion for working with data.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages such as Excel, SQL, Python, or R.
• Proven SQL programming experience will be necessary
• Proven Power BI experience will be necessary
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data into understandable insights.
• Detail-oriented and capable of maintaining data accuracy and integrity.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.
• Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
• Team player with a collaborative mindset and the ability to work well in a diverse team environment.
• Eagerness to learn and adapt to new tools, techniques, and technologies in the field of data analysis.
