JOB PURPOSE

The high-level overview of what the job is required to do

·     Safely operate vehicles on specified routes to collect hazardous and general waste.

·     Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient way complying with all relevant policies and procedures.

·     Conduct daily safety and maintenance checks, Clean trucks as scheduled and required.

·     Competently adhere to a scheduled and authorized modified route as required and service each location identified on the service sheet or assigned by the controller/manager.

·     Assure trucks and equipment is safely and securely parked.

·     Report malfunctions and repaired requirements to the mechanic/manager.

·     Maintain routing sheets and driver records such as Pre & Posts sheets.

·     Operate vehicle in accordance with safety policies and procedures.

·     Notify Manager of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage

·     Assure that proper safety gear is worn, to avoid sicknesses and contamination.

. Provide customers with information on what's acceptable and what is not when approached

Qualifications

. Matric or equivalent

Knowledge

·     
Drive manual & automatic drive trains.

Knowledge of driving with a drawbar 4 axle trailer.

·     
Language Proficiency
 
English

Technical Competencies

. Valid Driving License, code: EC

·    Valid PrDP

·    Valid medicals

Experience

.
Minimum of 3 years' experience

. Waste collection/disposal experience preferred, but not required
