Job Summary
Henchem Environmental Management Solutions are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Receiving Clerk to manage all incoming shipments and deliveries to our warehouse/facility. The main purpose of this role is to ensure the accurate and timely receipt, inspection, and recording of all goods, maintaining efficient inventory management and supporting smooth warehouse operations. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and possesses strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and Inspect Shipments: Accurately receive, unload, and unpack incoming deliveries from suppliers and vendors.
- Verify Accuracy: Compare physical shipments against purchase orders, invoices, and delivery notes to ensure accuracy of quantity, item codes, and batch numbers.
- Document Discrepancies: Inspect all products for damages, defects, or shortages, and report any discrepancies to the relevant departments (e.g., procurement, management, supplier) immediately.
- Inventory Management: Accurately log received items into the inventory management system (Pastel) and ensure proper labelling and binning of stock.
- Organization and Storage: Organize and place received items in their designated storage areas or allocate them to the correct departments, ensuring a safe, neat, and tidy work environment.
- Documentation and Filing: Maintain meticulous records and file all receiving documentation in an organized and retrievable manner.
- Collaboration: Coordinate effectively with warehouse, dispatch, and customer service teams to ensure a smooth flow of stock and resolve any issues promptly.
- Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all company safety procedures and health and safety regulations, especially when operating machinery.
Qualifications & Skills
Required:
- Education: High school diploma
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a warehouse receiving role.
- Skills:
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Basic computer literacy, including MS Office (Excel, Word) and experience with inventory management software and Pastel systems.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects and stand for long periods.
- Attributes: A reliable, self-motivated team player with a "can-do" attitude.
Preferred (Advantageous):
- A valid forklift or other material handling equipment (MHE) license.
