Position Overview

We are pleased to open an internal opportunity for a capable, mature, and proactive individual to join our recruitment team as a Junior Recruitment Officer.

Although titled "Junior," this role requires a strong foundation of professionalism, ownership, and leadership readiness. It is well suited for high-performing internal talent (including Team Leaders or individuals who have managed projects/people/processes) who are ready to step into a more strategic function.

The Junior Recruitment Officer will support end-to-end recruitment operations — from sourcing and screening to coordinating interviews and candidate experience management — while working closely with the Senior Recruiter and Recruitment Manager.

This position offers real exposure, learning, and growth into specialist and senior recruitment roles.

Key Responsibilities

1. Talent Sourcing & Attraction

  • Assist with job postings on internal and external platforms.
  • Screen CVs and shortlist suitable profiles based on hiring criteria.
  • Learn and apply proactive sourcing methods (database searches, referrals, job board sourcing).

2. Recruitment Coordination

  • Schedule interviews, assessments, and hiring discussions.
  • Maintain organized candidate records and documentation.
  • Support stakeholder communication (candidates, hiring teams, recruitment).

3. Candidate Experience

  • Ensure a professional, timely, and human experience for all applicants.
  • Provide consistent communication throughout the process.

4. Collaboration & Project Support

  • Work closely with the Senior Recruiter to understand recruitment needs.
  • Support department initiatives and take ownership of small recruitment projects.
  • Participate in strategy discussions, calibration sessions, and training.

5. Data & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
  • Assist with preparing recruitment reports, dashboards, and offer documentation.

Qualifications & Skills

This opportunity is open exclusively to current Quantanite employees.

We do not require prior recruitment experience (training will be provided). However, we do expect candidates to demonstrate:

  • Prior leadership or management experience,
    or experience owning and delivering structured projects, processes, or team responsibilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated maturity, professionalism, and preparedness.
  • High levels of organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • A clear understanding of the responsibility and influence the recruitment function carries.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Proven track record of solid performance, consistent attendance, and behavioral alignment to Quantanite values.

Advantageous (Not Required)

  • Previous exposure to recruitment, coaching, interviewing, or people development.
  • Experience using ATS or HR systems.

Recruitment Process

The selection process will include:

  1. Internal Assessment: Evaluating communication, aptitude, and recruitment readiness.
  2. Interview with Recruitment Team: Exploring motivation, preparedness, ownership, and interpersonal approach.
  3. Final Discussion with Recruitment Manager & HR Director: Assessing cultural fit, capability, and readiness for progression.

Performance, behaviour, KPIs, and attendance history will form part of the final evaluation.
