is partnering with a leading South African publishing organisation to appoint a
Chief Revenue Officer
at Executive Committee level. Reporting to the CEO, the CRO will hold enterprise-wide accountability for
revenue growth, commercial strategy and market expansion
across all customer segments and channels. This role is central to the organisation's evolution from a traditional print-led business to a
scaled, hybrid print–digital model
.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Set and execute enterprise commercial and revenue strategy.
  • Drive sustainable growth across print, digital and hybrid offerings.
  • Lead sales, marketing, digital strategy, customer experience and business development.
  • Apply rigorous commercial modelling to pricing, portfolio optimisation and capital allocation.
  • Accelerate digital adoption while protecting and optimising core print revenues.
  • Identify new markets, partnerships and scalable revenue models.
  • Provide executive leadership through complex change and digital transformation.
  • Build high-performing, future-ready commercial leadership teams aligned to Employment Equity objectives.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • 10+ years' experience in senior commercial, revenue or growth leadership roles
  • Proven track record of revenue growth, pricing strategy and portfolio optimisation.
  • Experience leading digital transformation within publishing, media, edtech or adjacent sectors.
  • Strong understanding of platform economics, subscriptions and mobile-first markets.
  • Commercially rigorous, strategically credible and comfortable operating at Board and ExCo level.
