As our newly appointed Senior Bookkeeper, you will join our finance team in Crayon South Africa, where your primary responsibility will be overseeing monetary collections in the African region. Your core duties will involve ensuring precise calculations of WHT (Withholding Tax) and VAT (Value Added Tax) at all times. Additionally, you will handle multi-country billing and account receivables across various African countries, leveraging your extensive experience and expertise in both country-specific and regional matters.

Other responsibilities: 

• Assist in the day-to-day accounting operations and facilitate cash management and treasury tasks 
• Conduct weekly follow-ups on debtors' collections and perform weekly recording of vendor invoices, which also includes the creation of both vendor and client profiles in the system 
• Responsible for generating service projects and handling the invoicing process 
• Contribute to enhancing accounting and closing processes through active participation and support in continuous improvement efforts 
• Provide comprehensive support in matters of audit and compliance, offering assistance as needed 

What we need to see from you: 

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Financial Management or demonstrated financial expertise and experience in transactional and financial accounting processes 
• Solid experience in finance, handling responsibilities across multiple subsidiaries (AP/AR, WHT, Debt collection) 
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with a wealth of experience using ERP systems 
• Excellent self-motivation, proactive initiative, sound judgment in financial matters, and meticulous attention to detail 
• Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities, adept at handling pressure, and consistently meeting tight deadlines 
• Effective communication skills with stakeholders at all levels and ability to thrive in highly dynamic work environments
