Position Overview:
We are seeking a strategic and experienced
Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO)
to lead the HR functions for a manufacturing company based in Gauteng. This key leadership role will drive the people strategy, fostering a culture of innovation, inclusion, and operational excellence. The CHRO will oversee talent acquisition, organizational development, employee engagement, compensation and benefits, and compliance to ensure that our workforce is aligned with business goals and thrives in a high-performance environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive HR strategy aligned with the company's vision and business goals.
- Lead the HR team to support recruitment, training, performance management, employee relations, and organizational development.
- Provide strategic guidance on talent acquisition to ensure the company attracts and retains top talent in a competitive market.
- Foster a culture of diversity, inclusion, and employee engagement that aligns with the company's values and mission.
- Oversee compensation and benefits programs to ensure competitiveness and alignment with industry standards.
- Implement and manage HR systems, policies, and procedures in line with company and legal requirements.
- Drive leadership development initiatives, succession planning, and workforce planning to ensure future organizational growth.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the executive leadership team on all people-related matters.
- Ensure compliance with all local labor laws, health and safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Lead change management initiatives to enhance organizational agility and effectiveness.
- Monitor HR metrics and performance data to evaluate the success of HR programs and recommend improvements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's or MBA preferred).
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in HR management, with at least 5 years in a senior HR leadership role within the manufacturing sector.
- In-depth knowledge of labor laws, regulations, and best practices within South Africa.
- Proven track record of successfully leading HR functions in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in managing HR transformation and driving organizational change.
- Ability to align HR strategies with business objectives and demonstrate ROI on people investments.
- Proficient in HRIS systems, MS Office, and HR analytics tools.
