Your mission as a Maintenance Planner

Your mission as a Maintenance Planner is to ensure the highest levels of plant reliability and availability by proactively planning, coordinating, and optimizing maintenance activities for all fixed plant equipment. You will support operational excellence, safety, and cost-effectiveness, contributing to the achievement of production targets and the overall success of the Bathopele operation.

What you'll do

• Create a maintenance schedule and condition monitoring programme for all fixed plant equipment based on OEM instructions.
• Generate planned maintenance inspections and condition monitoring forms/job cards, specifying frequency and tasks.
• Develop scheduled/provisional plant shutdown plans in conjunction with maintenance supervisors, considering work, spares, and user needs.
• Verify that inspections are completed as specified and follows up on deviations.
• Raise work orders to rectify any identified defects and take necessary action to remedy them.
• Provide support to foremen in preparation for plant maintenance meetings with customer engineering management.
• Supervise the preventative maintenance service definitions creation and connection on M3 ERP system.

• Perform removal and installation of service exchange components on M3 ERP system and hands over appropriate work orders to the warehouse team.

• Maintains an asset register, including type and serial numbers, for the entire fixed plant, and updates as required.

• Monitors and prepares weekly reports on expenditure and advises on cost reduction measures.

• Timely compilation and submission of maintenance reports

What you'll bring

• Grade 12 / Matric

• Engineering qualification (Diploma or higher, e.g., Mechanical, Electrical or Mining Engineering)

• Solid background in engineering and mining operations, with hands-on experience in mining equipment and maintenance systems.

• A business-related qualification (NQF6) is advantageous
• ERP Service Knowledge: Experienced in SAP or Infor M3 for service and operations Management

Who you are

• Highly skilled in MS Excel (Advanced), MS Project, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint.
• Proficient in Root Cause Analysis, Work Planning, and Condition Monitoring
• Strong Health & Safety focus with a continuous improvement mindset.
• Works effectively independently, under supervision, and in teams.
• Adaptable, receptive to instruction, and engages confidently across diverse environments
