Supernova Brands is a dynamic and expanding brand distribution company in Cape Town, South Africa. We specialize in bringing "out of this world" products to the biggest and best retailers and e-commerce companies in South Africa, Botswana, Zambia, Mauritius and Namibia (amongst others).

About the Role

This is a full-time on-site role for a Key Account Manager, located in Johannesburg. In this role, you will manage relationships with independent retail partners, develop business plans, and identify growth opportunities.

Target Customers can also include B2B accounts. 

Daily responsibilities include customer service, analyzing sales data, creating strategies to drive revenue, and liaising with internal teams to ensure client satisfaction. The Key Account Manager will also handle sales processes, from identifying new clients to nurturing existing relationships, and will consistently work towards meeting and exceeding sales objectives.

About You

  • You're a people-person who enjoys engaging with retail customers and solving problems on the ground.
  • You're highly organized and comfortable managing multiple moving parts.
  • You're adaptable — able to shift between in-store execution, data reporting, and cross-functional coordination with your team
  • You're proactive, strategic and thrive in fast-paced environments.
  • You are tech savvy; confident with Excel/Google Sheets, CRM tools, and reporting systems.
  • You have a driver's license & a willingness to travel frequently.
  • You preferably have a tertiary degree in Business Administration, Marketing or a related field; and/or in depth experience in the retail or FMCG industry in South Africa.

What You'll Do

  • Maintaining and cultivating relationships with current independent accounts and buyers across South Africa.
  • Develop and build relationships with new independent retail customers and b2b  sales channels  in South Africa.
  • Regular meetings with clients to understand their needs both in-person and online.
  • Process orders, monitor stock levels, and unlock sales opportunities in your channel.
  • Generate reports, share insights, and provide feedback to Category Managers.
  • Act as the go-to link between stores, field services, and our internal support teams (marketing, warehousing, and supply chain).
  • Orchestrate third-party merchandising activities to ensure planogram compliance, display execution, and brand visibility within your given retail channels.
  • Working closely with the procurement team to ensure that the correct goods and amount of goods are procured for your clients
  • Pitching new products to your channel with the goal of establishing long term sales opportunities
  • Oversee the loading and onboarding of new products on your customer portals with a key focus on selling features, presentability, and price
  • Keeping your fingers on the pulse of new marketing campaigns to maximise sales opportunities and smash sales targets
  • Develop and implement strategies for clearing dead/clearance lines within the business.
