A company based in Pretoria with experience in Engineering maintenance projects is looking for a Senior Unit Plant Operator for a 4 year contract in Ellisras.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12/N3 plus NQF4 National Certificate in Coal Fired Power Plant Process Operations as a minimum qualification
  • Years of experience: 3-5 years working as a Power Plant Operator

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Coal Fired Power Plant Experience is essential

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute electrical isolations and issue safety documents for LV and HV systems.
  • Prepare plant for service
  • Inspect plant/equipment after maintenance has been completed
  • Conduct risk assessment on critical operating activities
  • Ensure full compliance.
  • Perform switching schedules and manage electrical energy sources.
  • Work closely with the control room and maintenance teams to enable safe work.
