**Job Purpose**:
The Western Cape Government is looking to employ a self motivated individual to manage the assets of the Provincial Treasury on behalf of the Western Cape Government.

**Minimum Requirements**:

- B Degree (NQF 7 as recognized by SAQA) in Economics/ Finance/ Business Administration/ Public Policy/ Legal/Information Technology;
- 5 years senior management experience; and
- The successful completion of the Senior Management Pre-entry Programme (see paragraph 4 in notes below).

**Key Performance Areas**:

- Provide strategic guidance for the implementation, management and oversight of provincially operated financial systems;
- Provide policy direction and facilitate the management of supply chain and asset management practices within the provincial and municipal sphere;
- Oversee and manage staff within the Chief Directorate: Asset Management by ensuring the effective implementation of HR policies, workforce planning, performance management, skills development, and employee wellness initiatives to build and maintain a high-performing, accountable, and motivated team; and
- Oversee and manage the budget and financial resources of the Chief Directorate: Asset Management in compliance with the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), ensuring sound financial planning, expenditure control, cost-effectiveness, and accurate financial reporting to support the achievement of strategic objectives.

**Remuneration**:
All-inclusive salary package of R 1 436 022.00 per annum (Salary level 14). Please note that the remuneration package consists of a basic salary (70%) and the employer’s contribution to the Pension Fund. The remainder of the package may be structured according to your personal needs.
