Our client is a niche real estate services business with operations throughout all major cities in South Africa. They offer landlords with a world class service in the property and asset management of commercial, retail, and industrial assets. With capacity in their Cape Town based team, they are urgently looking to appoint a Senior Commercial Portfolio Manager to join their company and take responsibility for the effective management of an industrial and retail property portfolio. In this position you will be reporting directly to the Executive team you will be responsible for managing the performance of a team which includes Property, Creditor and Debtors Administrators. Some the duties entailed in this role will include, but not be limited to:
- Lease negotiations for renewals and new leases.
- Preparation of annual budgets
- Updating monthly working budget projections
- Attending site meetings
- Carry out regular inspections of the properties including inspection of refurbishments and tenant installations.
- Daily management of service providers.
- Ensuring all maintenance items are attended to timeously.
- Review arrears with the Debtors Administrator on a weekly basis and provide guidance where required.
To qualify for this position, you will need to have a tertiary degree in finance, real estate or related fields and a minimum of 4 years’ experience in property management looking after retail or industrial properties. Sound knowledge of MDA property software is essential, as well as the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
