Farm Manager

An exciting opportunity is available for a dynamic individual to fulfill a role in our client's farming division.

**Job Description Summary**: Plan, execute, manage, and report on the designated Farming unit in Lichtenburg.

**1. Planning**:

- Construct crop production plans for maize, soybeans, sunflower, wheat, and cotton for designated farming units.
- Make chemical
- and fertilizer recommendations in conjunction with respective representatives and agronomists.
- Build a budget for each unit covering all necessary scenarios within an achievable cost range.
- Evaluate different input prices and farming practices for the most efficient production plan.

**2. Execution**:

- Execute production plans within the set budget.
- Oversee accurate and timely land preparations.
- Ensure accurate delivery of harvested crops.

**3. Managing**:

- Coordinate Farming Contractors in day-to-day crop production activities.
- Continuously visit designated farming units to follow up, solve challenges, and monitor progress.
- Manage on-farm stock with safe storage and regular stocktaking.

**4. Reporting**:

- Frequent updating and reporting on crop progress.
- Report on factors influencing crops and potential damage or solutions.
- Report on the planned budget and any factors that may influence it.
- Report on-farm storage facility stock quantities.
- Report daily rainfall.
- Complete, report, and update crop estimates pre-harvest.
- Report deliveries into designated points and reconcile with reports.

**General**:

- Based in Lichtenburg, Northwest.
- Reports to Senior Farming Field Manager.
- Salary is market-related basic salary with Travel and Car Allowance, Provident fund, and medical aid benefits.
- Must have a reliable vehicle, preferably a utility (4x4/bakkie).
