**Operational Manager: Agricultural**Management Services**

**LICHTENBURG**

**Purpose of the position**:
The incumbent will be responsible for all operational requirements related to managing the Department of Agricultural Management

Services, and in doing so, providing a variety of agricultural services to both internal and external stakeholders.

**The responsibilities of the position include the following:

Updating the operational strategic plan annually in alignment with the NWK group’s overall strategy.General and operations management with the end goal of achieving goals set out by the company.Liaising with external stakeholders whilst ensuring customer satisfaction.Managing human resources effectively which includes, but is not limited to training; teamwork; performance feedback; and aligning

their vision with the company goals and values.Ensuring that the department adheres to all human resources procedures and policies.Overseeing the recruitment process whilst adhering to the EE-plan of the department.Setting and managing the departmental budget.Providing technical and strategic support to both internal and external stakeholders.Providing input and advice regarding the financing of production loans and in doing so, lowering the possible risks related thereto.Encapsulating a strategic approach to positioning agricultural technology i.e., opening up new avenues and utilising technology to

provide a strategic advantage.Providing up to date and relevant expert inputs and support to internal departments in relation to their agricultural requirements.Staying up to date with the latest technological and research advancements within the field of agriculture and consequently

suggesting alternative farming methods and enterprises to external stakeholders.Compiling expert technology and research frameworks for the NWK committee and implementing operational findings accordingly.

**Requirements / Qualifications**:
10-15 years’ relevant experience in the agricultural sector with practical farming knowledge of crop and animal production.Minimum of 5 years’ experience in managementRegistration under the National Scientific Professions Act (27 of 2003)Registration as Professional Natural ScientistMember of one or more specialist agricultural science societiesValid driver’s license-
Extensive knowledge of various agricultural scientific fields with an established network in agricultureExperience in finances and human resources operations**

Die posbekleër sal verantwoordelik wees vir alle bedryfsvereistes wat verband hou met die bestuur van die Departement van

Landboubestuursdienste, en om sodoende 'n verskeidenheid landboudienste aan beide interne en eksterne belanghebbendes te

verskaf.

**Die verantwoordelikhede van die pos sluit die volgende in:

Jaarlikse opdatering van die operasionele strategiese plan in ooreenstemming met die NWK-groep se oorhoofse strategie.Algemene en operasionele bestuur met die einddoel om doelwitte wat deur die maatskappy uiteengesit is, te bereik.Skakeling met eksterne belangegroepe terwyl kliëntetevredenheid verseker word.Doeltreffende bestuur van menslike hulpbronne, wat insluit, maar nie beperk is nie tot opleiding insluit; spanwerk; prestasie
- terugvoer; asook die belyning van hul visie met die maatskappy se doelwitte en waardes.Verseker dat die departement alle menslikehulpbronprosedures en -beleide nakom.Toesighouding oor die werwingsproses en verseker dat die EE-plan van die departement nagekom word.Opstel en bestuur van die departementele begroting.Die verskaffing van tegniese en strategiese ondersteuning aan beide interne en eksterne belangegroepe.Verskaf insette en advies rakende die finansiering van produksielenings om sodoende die moontlike risiko's wat daarmee verband

hou, te verlaag.Om 'n strategiese benadering tot die posisionering van landboutegnologie in te sluit, dit wil sê, nuwe weë ontsluit en tegnologie te

benut om 'n strategiese voordeel te bied.Die verskaffing van bygewerkte en relevante deskundige insette en ondersteuning aan interne departemente met betrekking tot

hul landbouvereistes.Op hoogte te bly van die nuutste tegnologiese en navorsingsvooruitgang op die gebied van landbou en gevolglik alternatiewe

boerderymetodes en -ondernemings aan eksterne belanghebbendes voor te stel.Die samestelling van kundige tegnologie en navorsin
