**THE JOB AT A GLANCE**
As the Junior Risk Analyst, you will be responsible for Gather information, analyse operational risk performance, identify possible risks and make recommendations for operational improvements. RMA specific purpose: Reporting to the Risk Manager, the Junior Risk Analyst will be responsible for supporting the implementation and operationalisation of the enterprise risk management framework while working closely with the actuarial, finance and other functional areas within the business.
**WHAT WILL YOU DO?**
**Organizational Risk Management**:
- Keep track of risk parameters, identifying any more deviations and reporting them to more senior colleagues. Involves working within established risk management systems.
**Risk Scenario Modeling**:
- Support the analysis and assessment of risks to determine whether they are within the agreed risk appetite.
**Recommendations**:
- Provide information and clarification on existing procedures, processes and precedents.
**Data Collection and Analysis**:
- Produce accurate reports for others by collecting data from a variety of standard sources and inputting it into standard formats.
**Document Preparation**
- Develop knowledge and understanding of the organization's policies and procedures and of relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct to ensure own work adheres to those standards. Obtain authorization from a supervisor or manager for any exceptions from mandatory procedure.
**Insights and Reporting**:
- Extract and combine data to generate standard reports.
**Administration**:
- Produce, update and provide best practice support on a wide range of MS documents, databases and other departmental systems to support the work of more senior colleagues.
**WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE TABLE?**
- Undergraduate Degree / Honours Tertiary Degree NQF Level 7: Relevant B Com Degree (i.e. Risk and Insurance or Accounting/Auditing)
- Experienced practitioner able to work unsupervised (13 months to 3 years)
- 1 - 2 years risk management experience in the financial services sector, preferably in or with exposure to a short-term insurance or a long-term insurance environment
