MSF SA is governed by the MSF Southern Africa Association, which is made up of more than 300 members from seven countries in the region.

**Purpose**

The purpose of the Interim IT Officer is to manage day-to-day ICT services, support the IT Officer with developing and implementing ICT management systems, facilitate procurement of information management tools and technology infrastructure to the organization. The Interim IT Officer is responsible for review of and advice on the use of new technologies that will enhance MSF SA’s office productivity. The Interim IT Officer will support the idea to promote a user-oriented approach methodology within the organization and will also work in close collaboration with the Office Management department to ensure day-tot-day running of operations. To ensure security: The Interim IT officer will support the IT Officer and the DPO with rolling out objectives on security implementation and compliance methods.

**Output 1**:Support to Department**

**Key Actions**
- Facilitate procurement of IT related equipment for the office.
- Ensures effective coordination of ICT helpdesk functions and provide support to employees.
- Management of hardware and software packages.
- Support the Association Team and other department with all technical issues during events, and online meetings,
- Assist in performing systems administration functions whenever needed.
- Assist in Developing manuals and provide end user training on new technologies and tools.
- Be part of the Knowledge Information Management to ensure knowledge building and knowledge sharing within MSF.
- Assist the IT Officer in deploying new Systems for the office.
- Provide remote technical support to the Cape town office.

**Output 2**:Office Network Support**

**Key Actions**
- Assist the IT Officer on the Implementation of ICT strategies and new technologies.
- Planning, scheduling, monitoring and ensure resolution of helpdesk tasks.
- Timely upgrade of LAN infrastructure and Internet connectivity to meet recommended industry standards.
- Monitoring of backup and restoration procedures for both server and local drives.

**Output 3: System Management**

**Key Actions**
- Supervising and managing IT intern and service providers.
- Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by your manager.
- Responsible for tracking the Asset Management Register and making sure al IT equipment are insured.
- Managing access control system and update users periodically as required.
- Review the IDS system, approach appropriate measures to mitigate compromised users as stated in the IT and data privacy policies.

**Knowledge, Skills, Experience**

**Essential**:

- National Diploma in **Information Technology** or related field.
- At least 1 year of related experience.
- Helpdesk - Customer Support.
- Internal IT support.
- Networks administration.
- Strong ability to resolve hardware technical problems (PCs, servers, PABX, etc).
- Teamwork oriented.
- Planning and organizing activities ahead of time and anticipating necessary resources.
- Excellent communicative skills, oral and written.
- Office365 and SharePoint in particular, general data support, good TCP/IP, VPN connection,
- MS operating systems (Windows 7,10 and server), Active Directory, demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office package.
- Experience with video conference systems (hardware and software).

**Desirable**:

- Certifications or Experience: CCNA, MCSA, N+, A+

**Working Relationships (Internal and External**)**

The Interim IT Officer will work closely with IT Officer to support several departments on technical issues and collaborate with external service providers for procurement of IT related implementation equipment.
