The Driver Staffing Manager supports our operations control hub by managing all aspects of the driver team within the operations department. This includes managing driver hours from eco time, leave recording and management, and driver communication with HR and senior management. Updating the system and ensuring all data captured is correct and updated Rostering according to Bargaining council requirements or similar legislation prescriptions.
The Driver Staffing Manager shall provide administrative support across the full range of driver affairs. They will create and generate a monthly roster in advance, handle drivers requesting changes to the roster, leave, and absenteeism, and ensure that all driver hours remain within the statutory limits and company guidelines. Monitor and track hrs on eco-time daily and make alterations and changes to the records as required. Work closely with HR and Payroll to deliver service to the driver team and various other business departments. They are responsible for knowing and continuously updating their knowledge of bargaining council rules and other legislation. They support management and perform a variety of tasks related to employee record-keeping within the operations department. Handling of sensitive employee and company information, which requires that they maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
Duties & Responsibilities:
2.1. Be the first point of contact for all driver-related queries
2.3. Ensure the relevant database is up to date, accurate and complies with legislation. This includes the hours, absenteeism and leave registers.
2.4. Assist in queries and referral or escalation to the relevant departments
2.5. Compiling the daily and monthly reports
2.6. Daily Capturing of hrs and attendance registers
2.7. Generate monthly roster and make changes
2.8. Communicate with the scheduler on driver availability, absenteeism, standby drivers, and changes
2.9. Recording of all leave, absenteeism, and late coming
2.10. Fatigue management
2.11. Collaboration with team
2.12. Communication with drivers regarding roster
2.13. Communication with hub
2.14. Verification of hrs and communicating with payroll regarding discrepancies
2.15. Dispatching of phones and drivers
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

3.12. Experience of producing accurate and complex employment/contractual documentation and correspondence
3.13. Knowledge of general office practices and procedures
3.15. Experience of maintaining comprehensive records
3.16. Experience of prioritising workload, time management and dealing with conflicting priorities
3.17. Ability to deal sensitively and appropriately with confidential information.
3.18. Ability to undertake routine calculations
3.19. Ability to undertake notes/minutes
3.20. Ability to undertake research
Minimum Qualifcations:
4.1 Relevant Diploma
4.2 Labour law knowledge
4.3 Logistics experience
4.4 Experience with bargaining councils and legislation ( Sarpbac Specific will be a great advantage)
4.5 4 Years Previous experience relevant to the post and general administration
4.6 Advanced Computer Skills - essential ( MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
4.7 Knowledge of systems such as payspace and eco time is an advantage
4.8 Previous hands on exposure to management of drivers
4.9 Knowledge of bargaining council purpose and structure.
4.10 Excellent writing skills
4.11 Attention to detail
4.12 Ability to work with people
4.13 Higher Grade maths
Pay: R12 000,00 - R20 000,00 per month
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Cape Town, Western Cape: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
**Education**:
- Diploma (required)
**Experience**:
- Roster and driver management: 3 years (preferred)
