Operator: Roller Coating

**Purpose**

To manufacture print-ready quality rubber and roller coats for the Intaglio presses.

**Main Responsibilities (not limited to)**:

- Create chemical mix recipes according to correct measurements to ensure consistency and expected outcomes
- Keep records of chemicals used and monitor stock on a weekly basis for audit purposes
- Set the oven according to the specified heat temperature and timing to avoid overheating or under heating
- Remove the cylinder from the oven to cool off to prepare for polishing or cutting plate to start the coating process according to set guidelines
- Conduct the necessary tests and measurements to ensure that the cylinder is ready to be cut or polished
- Keep stock of equipment or tools used in the section to ensure its availability and reliability
- Liaise with the Plant, Equipment & Maintenance (PEM) Department regarding major machine services and breakdowns to ensure continuous availability and reliability
- Ensure that safety regulations, procedures and standards are adhered to by identifying hazards associated with assigned tasks and escalating hazards that cannot be mitigated
- Supervise and train Production Assistants and Apprentices on assigned tasks
- Grade 12
- N4 Chemical Engineering or equivalent qualification
- 1- 2 years’ experience working with chemicals, rubber coating and lathe operation
