**Report to**: Operations & Compliance Manager
**Role Summary**:
Responsible for completion of all aspects of daily shipment operations. Work closely with the Operations Manager and the operations team to overcome day to day operational challenges. Contribute to ensuring a conducive, collaborative, and productive work environment for their department.
**Main Tasks and Specific Duties**:
- General Operational Duties:_
- Maintain the day to day allocated freight workload.
- Prepare, handle, and process documentation including reference shipment, progress order, arrange pick up/delivery, select & book carrier, negotiate rate & schedule, consolidate, update client.
- Track & trace cargo, update online web facilities.
- Liaise with carriers, partner agents & other parties to ensure information is up to date & correct.
- Arrange collections, deliveries with hauliers, agents & other parties.
- Attend 3rd party warehouses for Labelling/inspection of cargo etc.
- Update Post departure / Proof of Delivery information
- Produce accurate and timely client billing.
- Assist road freight and other modes as required.
- Customs Entries:_
- Complete Customs Entry using current software in operation.
- Customer Services:_
- Account Management - Responsible for Customer service for selected Customers to include all means of correspondence, problem resolution and visits as and when required.
- Create & Maintain Customer SOPs aimed at providing an excellent customer service experience.
- Update agents/customers regarding shipment status
- Resolve customer claims and delivery shortages.
- Quote existing customers and agents on sea and air consignments as required.
- Answer phone calls in a polite & efficient manner
- Sales Support:_
- Collaborate with Sales department as required.
- Gove close attention & support to new customers
- Collate sales information on prospective customers to be passed onto Sales department.
- Help develop good relations with overseas partner agents.
- Other Administrative Tasks:_
- Communicating with overseas partner agents, maintaining a professional relationship
- Maintain compliance standards at all times, including internal policies and procedures, external government regulations, and customer requirements.
- Ensure accounts queries are processed within required times.
- Provide cover for staff holidays, as required.
- Ensure that at the end of the day you leave your working area clean & tidy, in line with the clear desk policy in operation.
- Plus, other duties that may be required from time to time by the company or any member of the group of companies owned by the Directors.
**Job Type**: Contract
