Assistant Expense Officer

Job Title: Assistant Expense Officer (x2)
Location: Southern Suburbs - Cape Town, Western Cape
Type: Temporary Contract (Office-Based)
**Salary**: R12 500.00 per month
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Process and manage payments and expenditures in line with accounting standards and internal procedures.
- Maintain complete and accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with audit and reporting requirements.
- Perform bank, petty cash, and supplier reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Prepare and submit weekly and monthly financial reports.
- Support the National Finance Coordinator and Head of Finance with reporting, reconciliations, and expense monitoring.
- Contribute to process improvements and assist with financial system enhancements.
**Requirements**:
- Diploma in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or Finance (required).
- 2-3 years’ experience in a finance or accounting role, preferably within an NGO environment.
- **Must have experience using Sage Pastel (required).**:
- Strong knowledge of accounting procedures, reconciliation, and expense management.
- Experience working with a general ledger of approximately 500 accounts.
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and accountability.
- Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel).
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
