We are looking to recruit a Senior Operator to be part of a team running a 24 x 7 business critical environment. The position will be within the IT department of Clicks Group, based at Clicks Head Office in Cape Town. The role will report to the Operations Team Leader

**Job description**:
**Job Objectives**:

- Monitoring of all hardware and reporting of faults.
- Monitoring of set batch schedules.
- Monitoring of operating systems.
- Monitor and execute system backups.
- Monitoring of store data interchange.
- Generator and UPS testing.
- Ensure backup media is moved off-site.
- Assist with recovery of data and disaster recovery.
- Technical oversight on shifts.

**Minimum requirements**:
**Education and Experience**:

- IT Diploma
- Retail and Supply Chain experience

**Job specific requirements**:

- Available for shift work 24 x 7 including weekends and public holidays.
- Own reliable transport.

- Understanding of the Retail Industry (Essential)
- Extensive working knowledge of ITIL framework and processes at a senior management level with respect to business areas, software, technology, infrastructure and operations (Essential)
- Comprehensive understanding of best practice IT service strategies, processes and standards (Essential)
- Thorough working knowledge of commercial and vendor management relative to Information Technology - management of contracts, service level agreements, pricing (Essential)
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
