Relevant marketing / journalism / PR / communications qualification, diploma or degree is an advantage. Minimum of 5 years of experience in public relations, with a proven track record of successful media placements. Knowledge of the media landscape across the continent - with strong media connections in the following - Europe and Africa. Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to craft compelling messages for different audiences and platforms. Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills, with the ability to speak confidently in public. Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to work independently and take initiative, with a proactive and solutions-oriented mindset. Responsibilities Develop and execute public relations strategies that promote our client’s brand and reputation across Africa. Identify and build relationships with key media outlets, bloggers and influencers across the continent. Create and distribute press releases, media kits, and other relevant materials to targeted media outlets and influencers. Monitor and analyse media coverage to measure the effectiveness of PR campaigns and adjust strategies as needed. Collaborate with executive leadership to align PR strategies with broader business goals. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in PR, and make recommendations for innovative approaches to communication and reputation Writing - articles, press releases, company announcements. Research events across the continent and abroad to see how our client can get involved - speaking opportunities. Search opportunities for executives to network and/or speak at key events.
